Sam Tennant

Head of ICS Diagnostics

Sam is accountable for the overall strategic direction of ICS Diagnostics, including the operational and financial performance. He specialises in diagnostics staffing and since 2012 has worked for ICS Group within its Maxxima brand, where he has established an industry-leading nationwide clinical network of echocardiographers. Sam specialises in the use of technology to support diagnostics and the wider healthcare industry across the UK. This focus, together with an acute awareness of the staffing shortages prevalent across the UK’s diagnostics sector, led to him spearheading the creation and development of ICS Diagnostics.

As Head of Service Delivery, Dom oversees the planning, direction and co-ordination of all day to-day-operations, including managing innovation as an integral business process. A positive and innovative operational manager, with considerable experience and proven accomplishment within telemedicine, Dom has an extensive track record of growing, coaching and maturing successful operational teams within the service sector. Dom ensures ICS Diagnostics provides a smooth, efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of current and potential clients.



Raechelle Young - Operations Manager

Raechelle is accountable for the planning, direction and co-ordination of all day-to-day operations. She works closely with her colleagues in the clinical, governance, technical, business development and operations teams to ensure ICS Diagnostics is fully compliant and that targets and deadlines are met. Raechelle has over 20 years’ experience working across the public and private healthcare sector as a regional operations manager, clinic business manager, clinic manager, senior nurse and staff nurse, and has been a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered manager for many years. Prior to joining ICS Diagnostics, Raechelle spent over three years working as regional operations manager for InHealth Group, an independent provider of diagnostic solutions across the UK for NHS trusts, CCGs and independent healthcare providers.



James Ashman - Head of Physiology Services

James Ashman

As ICS Diagnostics Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission, James is responsible for all clinical activity across the business which includes ensuring that all regulations and fundamental standards are met. A former NHS cardiology service manager with more than 38 years’ experience, James is a dedicated senior cardiac physiologist with vast service knowledge. Specialising in innovative echocardiography, James also has had a successful role as an international applications specialist. He has a wealth of experience in advanced clinical echocardiography, as well as training and quality assurance. His specialist echocardiography knowledge, expertise and vision make him a key member of our team.



Eduardo Lima - National Echocardiography Lead

Eduardo’s extensive experience and NHS background perfectly places him to provide technical and clinical support on ICS Diagnostics’ service range. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the healthcare sector working across various departments and research settings, 10 of which has been spent working in the UK. Eduardo is Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) and Adult Transesophageal Echocardiography (TOE) accredited. He is also a British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) assessor.



Karen Matthews-Shard - ICS Group Clinical Director and Nominated Individual

ICS Group Clinical Director and Nominated Individual

Karen is the ICS Diagnostics governance lead and provides support to our registered manager. She has been ICS Group Clinical Director since March 2010, responsible for governance, risk management, quality, innovation and policy. She is also the Group’s Caldicott Guardian and has a wealth of experience in crisis management, serious case investigation and clinical risk management. Karen has 39 years’ experience in acute and primary healthcare in the Royal Navy, NHS and private sector for both commissioner and provider organisations. In addition to her ICS Group role she is Vice President for the Association of Perioperative practice, sat on the European board for theatre nurses as the UK representative setting standards across Europe and was an investigator for CIPOLD for premature deaths in LD 2010 -2013.
